On January 6th, I’ll be celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany (a great day for writers) with the fantastic Matt Bell, and we’ll be talking about my new book, Picnic in the Ruins, which is a crime comedy about national parks and antiquities theft.

More importantly, this is an opportunity to remind ourselves just how amazing and important our independent bookstores have been during the last few months. I hope to make this event a celebration of Changing Hands as well. When I was in graduate school in Flagstaff in the 90s, I’d try to beat the winters by driving down to the valley in my old Saab. I’d always try to drop in and find new treasures.
